Tucked deep inside Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park is a hidden treasure - Bugungu Airstrip. As our small plane touched down, the engine's hum faded, and I stepped onto the dusty airstrip, embraced by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. For wildlife lovers, Bugungu Airstrip is paradise. The park boasts lions, leopards, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles. On a guided nature walk, I found myself near a giraffe family peacefully grazing on acacia trees, feeling the ground beneath my feet and the sun on my skin - an encounter that touched my soul.



The best times to visit Bugungu Airstrip and Murchison Falls National Park are the dry seasons, from December to February and June to September. Wildlife gathers around the riverbanks then, offering great game viewing opportunities. The warm and dry weather is ideal for exploring the park on game drives, boat cruises, and nature walks.
