Entebbe Botanical Gardens Visit

The Entebbe Botanical Gardens is a wonderful destination for day trips for those in Entebbe or Kampala. Situated on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, these gardens cover 40.7 hectares at an altitude of 1134 meters, with an annual rainfall of 1623 mm. The diverse collection of plant species includes tropical, sub-tropical, and temperate varieties, as well as naturally regenerated shrubs and other vegetation. Visitors can admire numerous exotic plants and trees.

Birdwatchers will appreciate the opportunity to spot unique species and add to their Uganda birding list. Residents like the Palm Nut Vulture and African Grey Parrot can be seen, along with the Bat Hawk, often observed soaring over the gardens at sunset, best enjoyed from the Botanical Beach Hotel patio bar. Additionally, Colobus monkeys are commonly sighted in this area.
